Greetings my beloved Assyrian Nation. With the release of my song, “A Step To The Unknown,” I would like to share with everyone as to how this project came to life. In late 2017, I had the honor of meeting one of the most respected composers/song writer/singer Rabi Shlimon Bet Shmuel. Rabi Shlimon is a renowned scholar of the Assyrian history and well known for many of his Patriotic and Folkloric songs.
Growing up, I enjoyed listening to his songs such as Simele, Nahrain Yimma, Brata D' Omtee, Ashorina and many other of his hit songs. At one of our social meetings, Rabi Shlimon informed me that he was the original lyric writer of "A Step To The Unknown" which later became known as “Saparchewen” when other artist sung and recorded it.
Rabi Shlimon has also written a book entitled, "A Step To The Unknown", which documents his forced departure from his native land. While writing the lyrics, he foresaw a change that was taking place in our homeland due to the instability and harsh circumstances. Many of our people were taking refuge to neighboring countries and felt it was time for him to do the same due to being harassed by the Iraqi government authorities for his performances of his Patriotic songs. Saddened to leave his family and friends behind, he explained to me that he felt he was taking “A Step To The Unknown.”
After listening to his story and learning the reason he wrote the lyrics, I decided to recreate it. With the permission of Rabi Shlimon and also the talent of my music producer Ara Antranik, I was able to put my personal touch and create a video clip that will give everyone a clear vision of Rabi’s message when he wrote the lyrics back in September 1972. In conclusion, I would like to extend my love and respect to all of the previous artists who have also sung and recorded it. A very special thanks to Rabi Shlimon Bet Shmuel for allowing me to give my personal touch. Thank you to all my fans, I hope you will enjoy my song "A Step To The Unknown" as much as I have enjoyed creating it. God Bless our Assyrian Nation.

Premta D' Simele
One of my favorite songs covers the genicides perpetrated against the Assyrian people. Performed by one of my favorite artist Shlimon Bet-Shmuel.
Along with Rabi Shmuel and my brother Steve, I was honored to co-produce this video for "Premta D' Simele".
